COLUMBUS, GA — On Friday, October 14th, 2022, Rep. Jamaal Bowman will attend an early voting kickoff event followed by a canvass blitz hosted by We Vote. We Win. During the kickoff event, local leaders will talk about voting rights and how Macon and the Black Belt need to make their voices heard in the upcoming election. The canvass blitz will focus on talking to voters at their door about the issues that are specifically affecting rural communities in Georgia and motivating them to vote early for the midterm election.
This event will launch Rep. Bowman’s “Democracy on the Line: A National Voter Engagement Tour” organized by Community Change Action and its local partners in key states, including Georgia, Michigan, Ohio and Arizona. From Friday, October 14, 2022 through Monday, October 17, 2022, Rep. Bowman will travel across the country to speak directly to voters about the issues driving them to the polls. He will also engage with local leaders to strengthen voter engagement for high-potential, low propensity communities: young, Black, Latino, and low-income voters.
